REVIEW: FUJIFILM Instax SQUARE SQ10 hybrid instant camera.
I was really stoked to test out the FUJIFILM Instax Square SQ10 hybrid instant camera and wanted to share some quick thoughts on it. For years I’ve been shooting with the FUJIFILM Instax Wide series camera and it’s always been a huge hit on my photoshoots. I love how raw and intimate the instant prints look. With the FUJIFILM Instax SQUARE SQ10 hybrid instant camera, I can now take photos digitally and select which images to print out.
What’s dope about the SQ10 camera system is the various retro filters and manual editing options that allows you to execute the perfect shot. One of my favorite shoot settings is the double exposure feature – blending two separate pictures together as one. Another feature I really dig is being able to manually adjust the flash, crop, and exposure to achieve a cool overexposed look.
Having the ability to select which image to print may seem like it takes away the beauty from an instant film camera, but the digital+analog feature is REALLY nice when you’re trying to save money on film. I love how I can choose different filters and even go back and adjust the image once I’ve taken it. The square print format is slightly smaller than the Instax Wide, and slightly larger than the Instax mini – so it’s a good medium sized print. Everyone I’ve photographed with the SQ10 camera LOVES the look of the prints. Though the digital files when uploaded are low quality, I recommend this camera be your ‘fun’ experimental camera you shoot with alongside your fancy DSLR. Here are some scanned prints from some recent shoots of mine featuring all my babes Sirah, Demi Lovato, Zachariah, XLovers, and Leah.
